Summer Sea Term Send-Off
Summer 2027
Summer Sea Term is an immersive, 60-day Learn by Doing experience that takes Cal Poly Maritime cadets beyond the classroom and out to sea. Before they embark on this unforgettable voyage, parents, families and supporters are invited to gather at the waterfront and help give our cadets a memorable send-off.
Cal Poly Maritime Family Programs will be there with supplies for families and supporters to create cards and messages for their sailors. We’ll collect the cards and send them to cadets mid-cruise, providing a welcome boost and a little piece of home while they’re at sea.
Details about the Summer Sea Term schedule and the send-off event will be posted in spring 2027.
Virtual New Parent and Supporter Orientation
Summer 2027
Orientation helps parents and supporters learn more about the student experience, campus resources and ways to support their student’s transition to Cal Poly Maritime Academy. A virtual Parent and Supporter Orientation is offered during the summer and is highly recommended, though not required. Additional orientation resources, events and recorded webinars are also available to explore at your convenience.
All-Aboard Dinner

Celebrate the start of your student’s Cal Poly Maritime Academy journey at the All-Aboard Dinner. Following move-in and welcome ceremonies, families and supporters are invited to gather on the waterfront for dinner, live music and an opportunity to connect with the faculty and staff who will support their student throughout their Cal Poly experience.
